Mr. Louis Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management (SAM), an investment fund management and advisory firm in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. SAM’s funds have invested in 65+ companies in Vietnam across various industries. SAM’s funds consistently outperformed relative indexes and peer funds.

Previously, Mr. Louis was Managing Director at VinaCapital, leading the DFJ VinaCapital venture capital fund. He also served as the Founding General Partner at IDG Ventures Vietnam. Before Vietnam, Louis was Vice President at Intelligent Capital in San Francisco and Senior Investment Manager at Osprey Ventures in Menlo Park.

Louis started his career at KPMG Silicon Valley and Apple in Cupertino, California. Mr. Louis was the Founding Chairman of the Capital Markets and Financial Services Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Ho Chi Minh City. He’s known as “Shark Louis” on the TV show “Shark Tank Vietnam,” supporting startups in Vietnam and promoting sustainable investments.

Louis holds a B.S. in Accounting from San Jose State University and is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
