TNB Aura, VC fund leads a funding round for GIMO and Vuihoc, will participate in InnoEx 2023

In July, TNB Aura joined the $17.1-million Series A funding round in Vietnamese startup GIMO and led a $6-million funding round for edtech startup VUIHOC.

On July 24, GIMO – a startup providing flexible salary solutions for Vietnamese workers, officially completed a Series A funding round with a total raised capital of $17.1 million USD.

This funding round included equity and debt capital and was completed just five months after GIMO announced a $5.1 million USD investment in February 2023.

The deal was led by TNB Aura with the participation of the startup’s existing investors such as Integra Partners, Resolution Ventures, Blauwpark Partners, ThinkZone Ventures, and Y Combinator – the Silicon Valley startup accelerator. Additionally, the funding round also saw contributions from new investors such as Genting Ventures, TKG Taekwang, George Kent, and AlteriQ Global.

“We look forward to working closely with the GIMO team in breaking down barriers to financial inclusion for millions of blue-collar workers across Vietnam,” said Charles Wong, founding partner of TNB Aura.

Earlier in July, TNB Aura also successfully led the fundraising efforts for Vuihoc, raising $6 million USD in a new funding round.

The Series A funding round for Vuihoc also involved renowned investors including TKG Taekwang, IBK-STIC Pioneer Fund, and previous investors like Do Ventures, BAce Capital, and Vulpes Ventures.

Mr. Charles Wong, Founding Partner of TNB Aura, commented: “We are proud to support Lam and Thu in delivering high quality and readily accessible education to students across Vietnam. With more than 21 million K-12 students across the country, and almost 80% living outside Tier 1 cities, VUIHOC is uniquely positioned to help uplift educational standards across the board.”

Amidst the “winter” of fundraising, with funds tightening their investments, startups cannot avoid the common difficulties arising from the global economic situation, and their biggest challenge currently is the issue of funding. The successful investments in Vietnamese startups like GIMO and Vuihoc have demonstrated Vietnam’s allure as a rising star in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem.
