Markus Klemmer

Currently I am serving as Chairman cum General Director at Planetzero.earth, focusing on the development and implementation of practical decarbonization solutions across industrial and agricultural sectors in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

My work centers on turning biomass waste into value – specifically through biochar production, carbon sequestration, and the generation of carbon credits. The goal is to bridge the gap between climate ambition and real-world execution by developing solutions that are both environmentally and commercially viable.

This includes:
– Developing biochar-based carbon projects from concept to operation
– Working with agricultural residues such as coffee husks and wood waste
– Structuring scalable solutions for carbon removal and circular resource use
– Supporting partners in navigating carbon markets and sustainability strategies

Previously, I established and led carbon-related initiatives at WATER SOLUTIONS South-East Asia, including the development of CARBON SOLUTIONS INTERNATIONAL as a dedicated platform for biochar and carbon management projects.

Earlier in my career, I worked with Dr. Born – Dr. Ermel GmbH in Germany and across Asia-Pacific, where I managed infrastructure and environmental projects, and led regional operations in Hong Kong.

Across all roles, my focus has remained consistent:
