In 2004, after more than 25 years of living and working in North America, Dr. Nguyen Thanh My returned to his hometown of Tra Vinh to establish Mylan Group, the province’s first high-tech company. He has founded and co-founded 13 high-tech enterprises, 8 of which are operating in Tra Vinh province.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh My is an inventor and co-inventor of over 600 patents in the United States, Canada, China, Vietnam and many other countries. He has also co-authored 68 papers on materials chemistry in scientific journals in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. Dr. Nguyen Thanh My is also a speaker at many conferences on science, startups and smart agriculture at home and abroad.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh My graduated with a PhD in energy and materials science in 1990 from INRS-Energy-Materials-Telecommunication (Varennes, Quebec, Canada). He also received his MSc in Heterogeneous Catalysis in 1988 and BSc in Analytical Chemistry in 1986 from Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada).
Before starting his own business, Dr. Nguyen Thanh My worked as a Technical Manager at Kodak Polychrome Graphics Company in Carlstad, New Jersey; a Research Scientist at IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California, USA, and a Research Associate at INRS-Energy, Materials and Telecommunication.
