Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao

Thao is currently a Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), CEO of PNJ Jewelry Production and Trading Company Limited (PNJP Co., Ltd).

At PNJ, she held the position of Director of Digital Transformation in the period of 2020 – 2021, Head of the Environment, Society and Corporate Governance (ESG) Committee in the period of 2022 – 2024

With 15 years of living, studying, and working in many countries such as UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, … Thao brings many international perspectives into corporate governance and operations to PNJ. Before joining PNJ, she worked as a Director at ANZ Banking Group (Melbourne, Australia), Director of the Project Management Board at DongA Bank, and Lecturer at the University of Economics HCMC.

She also actively participates in social activities. Currently, Thao is the member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA), the Vice Chairperson of HCMC Young Business Association (YBA), the a member of the Executive Board of HCMC Association for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs (HAWEE), the National President of JCI Vietnam 2024 (JCI Vietnam).

Thao holds a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University (UK), an MBA from London Business School (UK) and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University (USA).

Achievements from 2022 to date (July 2024):

• Commendation from the Chairperson of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (three times)
• Certificate of Merit from the Women’s Union in Ho Chi Minh City
